Just potentially got rid of five small water snakes on Cross this afternoon with some bird shot. I say potentially because we were unable to confirm whether or not three of 'em bit the dust. Each measured approximately two feet long and every single one of them was lurking about just off of our bank. A little bird shot goes a long way. What? A liberal that shoots guns? You've got a lot to learn. Anyway, we actually saw a larger water snake about 20 minutes before all of those younger ones started showing up in the weeds. Big momma? With the water up, everyone be careful. It is that time of year. They're out and about. Can't have that many snakes in one spot though. Not comfortable with the notion. It looked as though they might have been nested up under the steps of our pier. Got one of the same kind last week with the mower blade.
